Untitled Heavy
Installation, assemblage found objects, cement breezeblocks, used leather sofa, 165  x 86 x 80  cm, 2019

This artwork reflects on domesticity and the weight of lived experience, particularly the artist's own encounter with depression. The juxtaposition of soft and hard elements echoes themes of entrapment and estrangement from reality, as if the familiar comfort of the sofa is burdened with an unbearable heaviness. Through this piece, the artist invites viewers to confront the dualities of vulnerability and strength, suggesting that the softer our contact with certain experiences, the heavier and more consuming they can ultimately become.
